Redlining

    Redlining is the denial of services to residents of certain areas based on race or ethnicity by federal government agencies, local governments based and the private sector. Neighborhoods that were predominantly comprised African Americans were targeted . Loans in these neighborhoods were unavailable or very expensive, making it more difficult for low-income minorities to buy homes and setting the stage for the country’s persistent racial wealth gap
